Twenty CV formats for different careers, countries and applications
A bank panel, an NGO hiring team, a scholarship board and a European recruiter each look for different information. Choose a format that suits the job and country, and a specialist will write the CV accordingly.
These are not templates or blank files to fill in. Each sample shown here is a CV written for a real applicant, so the images help demonstrate the quality of the work. Every new CV is written from the details provided.
How to choose the right CV format
Twenty formats can seem confusing, but each serves a different type of application. What matters most is the information the reader expects — a photograph, visa status, publications or answers to selection criteria — rather than the visual design alone. The guide below explains the differences and helps identify the format that best fits the intended application.
Which CV format fits the application?
Four groups, with the formats listed under each. Choose the group that matches the intended application.
- First jobs and applications within Bangladesh
- The fresher format is for a first application, where a degree, a few projects and one internship are the whole record. Mid level is for three to eight years of experience, where a basic list of duties may not show what sets a candidate apart from others. Government recruitment is separate again: it reads a prescribed biodata sheet rather than a CV, written in Bangla or English as required by the recruitment circular.
- Written for one Bangladeshi sector
- Bank and MTO, NGO and development, RMG and merchandising, teaching, and senior leadership each hire on different evidence. A bank panel reads for results and a clean record. A development recruiter reads for project cycle, donor requirements and field experience. A merchandising manager wants to know which buyers you handled, at what volume, and whether shipments went out on time. The same career needs a different emphasis for each of these sectors.
- Applying to an employer outside Bangladesh
- Gulf and Middle East, US and Canada, UK and Ireland, Australia and New Zealand, Japan and South Korea, Singapore and Malaysia, Europass for European employment, and a separate format for engineering roles at large technology companies. These formats vary widely because employers in different countries expect different information, as explained below.
- Study, research and funding
- The study Europass is read by an admissions committee rather than an employer, so it focuses on academic background and the information a department needs to assess an application. The academic CV allows more detail than the other formats here, because publications, funding, teaching and supervision each need a section of their own. The scholarship CV is written for a panel choosing a person rather than filling a vacancy — Chevening, Erasmus Mundus, DAAD, Fulbright and MEXT all publish their criteria, and the document has to answer them.
How CV requirements change between countries
These are common hiring conventions, not just design choices. Following them helps an application feel appropriate for the local job market, while ignoring them can give the wrong first impression.
- North America: no photograph, no personal details
- A resume for the United States or Canada carries no photograph, no date of birth, no marital status and no religion. Including them can have a file set aside for legal reasons before anyone reads it — the exact opposite of what a Bangladeshi CV convention would suggest.
- The Gulf: eligibility is read before experience
- Recruitment across the Gulf runs through agencies and HR teams that filter on availability, visa status and transferability first. A CV without that information may be put on hold until those details can be confirmed.
- UK and Ireland: two pages and a personal statement
- Two pages is the norm rather than one, a short personal statement opens the document, and no photograph is expected. The right to work is stated clearly rather than waiting for an employer to ask.
- Australia and New Zealand: answer the selection criteria
- Employers there, and almost every public sector role, publish selection criteria and expect the application to address them point by point. Many applicants overlook this requirement. Answering the criteria clearly makes it easier for the panel to assess the application.
- Japan and South Korea: formal, chronological, complete
- Hiring there rewards a carefully prepared document. A clear order and complete information matter, while the informal, punchy style common in North America can seem careless.
- Europe: a familiar format still needs the right detail
- European employers and work permit files expect the Europass structure. The form is easy to find, but filling it well takes care — incomplete or vague entries can make an experienced candidate appear less qualified than they are.
How a CV gets written
Four steps, with payment made directly by mobile wallet.
- Choose the format that matches the target job or country. If two formats seem suitable, message us before placing an order and we will help choose the better fit.
- Pay from a personal bKash, Nagad or Rocket account to the number shown at checkout, then paste the transaction ID from the confirmation SMS. This ID links the payment to the correct order.
- A specialist writes the document using the information provided. Nothing is auto-generated or assembled by filling in a ready-made template.
- The finished document is delivered within 48 hours of payment verification, one revision included, on an order page accessible without logging in.
Included with every CV format
The same four benefits are included with all twenty formats.
- Written from scratch by a specialist
- Each CV is written from the information provided, not from a file to fill in. The sample images show CVs we have written for other applicants, rather than files available to download.
- Checked against the screening software
- The ATS check is included in the writing service at no extra charge. Government biodata is the exception: it follows the official format instead, because tracking systems do not read it.
- A print-ready PDF and DOCX
- Each finished file becomes available on the order page immediately, rather than waiting for the entire order to be ready. An email is sent for each delivery.
- One free revision
- One revision is included in the price: it corrects the document you ordered, and a CV for a different role is new work. Further revisions are an add-on, and a later update by us costs 20% of what you paid for the CV. The DOCX is yours, so you can also edit it yourself.
Questions about CV writing
- Is this a CV writing service or a template?
- We write it. You send your details, a specialist writes the document for the role you are applying to, and you receive the finished file. Nothing on this page is a template, and the sample images are CVs we produced for other people, shown so you can judge the standard of the work.
- How long does CV writing take, and is a revision included?
- Written work is delivered within 48 hours of the payment being verified, and one revision is included in the price. Every order has its own tracking page showing where the work stands and listing the finished files. No login is needed, so it opens from the confirmation email on any device.
- Which CV format should I pick for a job abroad?
- The one that matches the country, because the conventions genuinely differ: no photograph for the United States or Canada, visa status stated up front for the Gulf, two pages and a personal statement for the UK and Ireland, and selection criteria answered point by point for Australia and New Zealand. If two formats seem suitable, message us on WhatsApp before placing an order.
- Is the CV checked against ATS software before delivery?
- Yes, as part of the writing rather than as a paid extra. The one exception is government biodata, which a person reads against a prescribed form — no applicant tracking system is involved, so there is nothing for a parser to score.
- Can a CV be written in Bengali?
- The government biodata format is written in Bangla, because that is how most government circulars ask for it. The other formats are written in English, which is what employers here and every overseas application expect.
- Can an existing CV be checked before ordering?
- Yes, and it costs nothing. The ATS checker on this site reads your PDF inside your own browser, scores it out of 100 and shows the raw text the software extracted. There is no signup and the file never leaves your device — it exists so you can see whether you need us at all.
