Questions about this
My publication list is short. Is an academic CV worth it?
Yes, if you are applying to a department. A short list presented properly with the venue, your author position and the status of anything under review reads far better than a long list padded with unrefereed items.
Should papers under review be included?
Yes, in their own group and labelled honestly as under review or in preparation, never mixed in with published work. Committees look for exactly this and treat any blurring of the line as a serious mark against you.
Is this the right document for a PhD application?
Yes. A PhD application is judged on research potential, and this format gives your thesis, publications, methods and supervision their own space instead of compressing them into a job style CV.
Will mine look exactly like the samples?
No. The samples are CVs we wrote for other people, shown so you can judge the standard of the work before you pay. They are not files you pick from and fill in. Yours is written from your own material, and the order of the sections is decided by what is strongest in your case.
Do I get a Word file too?

Single column or two columns?
We build single column by default. Screening software reads a page from top to bottom in one pass, and a two column layout makes it interleave the two sides, so a strong candidate can come out of the parser as nonsense. If you prefer the look of two columns we will do it that way and say plainly what you are trading for it.
What if I do not like the first draft?
Write back with the points you want changed and the same writer revises it. One revision is part of the price rather than an extra, and further revisions are an add-on on this page. What we cannot do is guarantee a particular employer will call, and anyone promising that is selling you something else.
My deadline is today. Can it be faster?
