CV writing · NGO and development

Project cycle, donor language, field evidence, on one page

Development hiring reads for a specific vocabulary and a specific kind of proof. A CV written for a corporate role rarely carries either, however strong the person behind it is.

What this format has to get right

  • Written in the sector vocabulary

Beneficiary reach, log frame, baseline and endline, monitoring and evaluation, community mobilisation, safeguarding. These are not buzzwords in this sector, they are the terms a shortlist is built from.

  • Donor and project named properly

Which donor funded it, what the project was called, what your role was inside it and over what period. A recruiter in this sector often knows the project, and a vague description loses a point it did not need to.

  • Field evidence, not intentions

Households covered, sessions run, unions or upazilas worked in, data collected, reports submitted. Numbers here are usually available from your own reporting, and they change the weight of the page completely.

  • Local language and mobility stated

Willingness to be posted outside Dhaka, field mobility and the local languages you work in are screening criteria in this sector, not personal details. Left off, they are assumed to be missing.

From order to delivery

  1. Place the order and pay

Pay from your own bKash, Nagad or Rocket account to the number shown at checkout, then paste the transaction ID. That ID is what ties your payment to your order.

  2. Send your information

An old CV, a certificate, a LinkedIn link or a plain list is enough. Nothing has to be tidy. If something important is missing we will ask instead of inventing it.

  3. A writer builds it from scratch

Not a name dropped into a ready made file. Your experience is read, ordered and rewritten so the strongest part of it is the first thing anyone sees.

  4. Delivered within 48 hours

A print ready PDF and DOCX, sent within 48 hours of the order being confirmed. One revision is included. Further revisions are an add-on, and a later update by us costs 20% of what you paid for the CV; you can also edit the DOCX yourself.

What we need from you

Nothing has to be tidy. If something important is missing we will ask rather than invent it.

  • Each project with its donor and duration
  • Your role and what you were accountable for
  • Reach and coverage figures you can stand behind
  • Training on safeguarding, M&E or data tools
  • Languages and posting preference

Questions about this

I worked as a volunteer, not staff. Does it count?

It counts, and in this sector more than most. What matters is what you were responsible for and what came out of it, not the contract type. We label it honestly as volunteer or intern and let the substance carry the weight.

Should I write a CV or the donor style form?

Large agencies often have their own application form, and you still need a CV to attach and to apply everywhere else. This is that CV. If a specific agency form needs filling from it, the content here maps onto it directly.

Can it also work for a UN or INGO application?

Yes. The structure and the vocabulary are the same, and the emphasis shifts toward standards, reporting discipline and safeguarding, which we bring forward when you tell us that is the target.

Will mine look exactly like the samples?

No. The samples are CVs we wrote for other people, shown so you can judge the standard of the work before you pay. They are not files you pick from and fill in. Yours is written from your own material, and the order of the sections is decided by what is strongest in your case.

Do I get a Word file too?

Yes. Every CV comes as PDF and DOCX, so you get a print ready file and an editable Word file you can open and change yourself.

Single column or two columns?

We build single column by default. Screening software reads a page from top to bottom in one pass, and a two column layout makes it interleave the two sides, so a strong candidate can come out of the parser as nonsense. If you prefer the look of two columns we will do it that way and say plainly what you are trading for it.

What if I do not like the first draft?

Write back with the points you want changed and the same writer revises it. One revision is part of the price rather than an extra, and further revisions are an add-on on this page. What we cannot do is guarantee a particular employer will call, and anyone promising that is selling you something else.

My deadline is today. Can it be faster?

Yes. Same day express is an add on above, and it moves your order to the front of the queue for delivery in 6 to 8 hours. An express order placed after 8 pm is delivered by 11 am the next morning. Everything else about the work stays the same.

What if I change jobs later and need it updated?

Tell us what changed and we update it. A new job, a promotion, a training certificate or a new phone number are all the same to us, and you get a fresh PDF and DOCX back. An update done by us costs 20% of what you paid for the CV. You can also edit the DOCX yourself, whenever you like.
