CV writing · Japan and South Korea

Formal, chronological, and complete, the way East Asian employers read

Hiring in Japan and Korea rewards a document that looks careful. Order matters, completeness matters, and the informal, punchy style that works in North America reads as careless here.

What this format has to get right

  • Chronological order, oldest first where expected

The Japanese convention runs education and work from the beginning forward, which is the opposite of the Western habit. Getting this wrong is the first thing an experienced reader notices.

  • A work history that explains itself

Beyond the basic history, Japanese employers expect a fuller account of what you actually handled in each role, closer to a work summary than a bullet list. Korean applications expect the same substance in a tighter form.

  • Language ability with the test that proves it

JLPT level for Japan and TOPIK for Korea carry more weight than any self description. Where you have no test yet we say so plainly, because an overstated level is discovered in the first interview minute.

  • Photograph and formal presentation

A formal photograph is standard in both markets, and the overall presentation is expected to be plain and orderly rather than designed. Restraint reads as professionalism here rather than as a lack of effort.

From order to delivery

  1. Place the order and pay

Pay from your own bKash, Nagad or Rocket account to the number shown at checkout, then paste the transaction ID. That ID is what ties your payment to your order.

  2. Send your information

An old CV, a certificate, a LinkedIn link or a plain list is enough. Nothing has to be tidy. If something important is missing we will ask instead of inventing it.

  3. A writer builds it from scratch

Not a name dropped into a ready made file. Your experience is read, ordered and rewritten so the strongest part of it is the first thing anyone sees.

  4. Delivered within 48 hours

A print ready PDF and DOCX, sent within 48 hours of the order being confirmed. One revision is included. Further revisions are an add-on, and a later update by us costs 20% of what you paid for the CV; you can also edit the DOCX yourself.

What we need from you

Nothing has to be tidy. If something important is missing we will ask rather than invent it.

  • Full education and work history with months
  • JLPT, TOPIK or other language results
  • A detailed account of duties in each role
  • Visa status or the route you are pursuing
  • Whether the employer is local or international

Questions about this

Do you write it in Japanese or Korean?

We write the English document that international divisions, global companies and most engineering roles accept. If a fully domestic employer requires the local language forms, this English version is what a translator works from, and it saves that step being done twice.

I have gaps between jobs. Is that a problem there?

It draws more attention than in the West, so it is better to account for it than to leave it blank. Study, family responsibility, preparation for a language test or a return to Bangladesh are all ordinary explanations that close the question.

Is a photograph really necessary?

For domestic employers in both countries it is conventional and its absence is noticed. For an international company hiring into a Tokyo or Seoul office it is optional. Tell us which you are applying to and we set it accordingly.

Will mine look exactly like the samples?

No. The samples are CVs we wrote for other people, shown so you can judge the standard of the work before you pay. They are not files you pick from and fill in. Yours is written from your own material, and the order of the sections is decided by what is strongest in your case.

Do I get a Word file too?

Yes. Every CV comes as PDF and DOCX, so you get a print ready file and an editable Word file you can open and change yourself.

Single column or two columns?

We build single column by default. Screening software reads a page from top to bottom in one pass, and a two column layout makes it interleave the two sides, so a strong candidate can come out of the parser as nonsense. If you prefer the look of two columns we will do it that way and say plainly what you are trading for it.

What if I do not like the first draft?

Write back with the points you want changed and the same writer revises it. One revision is part of the price rather than an extra, and further revisions are an add-on on this page. What we cannot do is guarantee a particular employer will call, and anyone promising that is selling you something else.

My deadline is today. Can it be faster?

Yes. Same day express is an add on above, and it moves your order to the front of the queue for delivery in 6 to 8 hours. An express order placed after 8 pm is delivered by 11 am the next morning. Everything else about the work stays the same.

What if I change jobs later and need it updated?

Tell us what changed and we update it. A new job, a promotion, a training certificate or a new phone number are all the same to us, and you get a fresh PDF and DOCX back. An update done by us costs 20% of what you paid for the CV. You can also edit the DOCX yourself, whenever you like.
