Career service · cover letter
The page that explains why this particular role and employer are the right fit
Your CV is the same document wherever you send it. The cover letter is the only part of an application written for one named role at one named company, and it is where a gap, a switch or an unusual jump stops looking like a risk.

What the letter has to do that the CV cannot
It answers the question of why here
The same CV goes to every employer, and every employer knows it. The letter is the only place you can show that you read the advertisement, know what the company does, and are applying to this one on purpose.
It explains details a CV can only show
Eleven months between two jobs, a move from teaching into sales, a return from abroad. On a CV these are dates that raise a question. In three sentences in a letter they become a reason, and the question never reaches the interview.
The first two lines decide the rest
Most letters open by stating a name and the fact that an application is attached, both of which the reader already has. Yours opens with the reason you are worth ten more seconds.
It also works when pasted into an email
A large share of applications here are sent as the body of an email rather than a second attachment. A letter built on a header block, a logo or two columns falls apart the moment it is pasted. Yours is written to hold its shape either way.
How your letter gets written
Order and pay
Checkout shows a bKash, Nagad or Rocket number. Send the amount from your own account, then paste the transaction ID into the order so the payment can be matched to it.
Send the advertisement and your CV
The advertisement matters more than anything else you can give us, because the letter is written against what it asks for. A link, a screenshot or the text pasted in are all fine.
A writer writes it for that one role
The requirements in the post are matched one by one against what you have actually done. The two or three strongest matches carry the middle of the letter, and whatever does not serve this application is left out.
Delivered within 48 hours
One page, addressed to the person or the team named in the post, sent within 48 hours of the order being confirmed. Tell us what you want changed and the same writer revises it.
What to send us
The advertisement is the one thing we cannot write without. Everything else can arrive rough.
- The job advertisement, or a link to it
- Your CV, or the same details in any form
- The company name, and who the post is addressed to
- Anything you want explained, such as a gap or a switch
- Whether it goes as an attachment or in the email body
Questions about this
Do employers in Bangladesh actually read cover letters?
The ones who ask for it do, and a great many job posts ask for it directly. Where it is optional it costs you nothing to include, and it is the cheapest way to be different from the applicants who attach a file and write nothing. What gets skipped is the generic letter, not the letter.
Can I use the same letter for every job I apply to?
The middle of it can travel. The parts naming the company, the role and the reason you want that one cannot, and those are the parts doing the work. Changing only the company name is worse than sending nothing, because a reader spots it in a line. Each letter here is written for one post, so order one for each post you care about.
Should the letter repeat what is already on my CV?
No. A letter that summarises the CV hands the reader the same information twice and a reason to stop. Yours takes two or three things from your record, says what they mean for this employer, and leaves the full list to the CV.
I have a gap of over a year. Do I mention it or leave it out?
Mention it, in one line, with what you did in that time. Studying, caring for family, a business that did not work, treatment, a visa that took months. A reader who sees the gap and no explanation invents one, and what they invent is worse than the truth.
Do you write it in English or Bangla?
English by default, because that is what most postings here are written in. If you are applying to a government office or an organisation that corresponds in Bangla, say so when you order and it is written in Bangla instead.
The post does not name anyone. Who is it addressed to?
Never To Whom It May Concern, which announces a form letter before the first line is finished. It goes to the role or the team instead, such as the Head of Human Resources or the hiring team for that department. If the post does name someone, their name and title are used exactly as printed.
How long will it be?
One page, three or four short paragraphs, and that is a limit rather than a target. Anything longer gets read diagonally, and the second page of a cover letter is almost never opened.
I am ordering a CV as well. Is the letter cheaper with it?
Yes. On every CV page the cover letter is offered as part of the order for less than it costs on its own, and the exact amount is shown there before you pay. Ordered together they are written by the same writer, so the letter never contradicts the CV.
What if the draft does not sound like me?
Say which lines feel wrong and the same writer rewrites them. That is included once, at no extra charge; further revisions are an add-on on this page. A letter that sounds like someone else is a real problem, because you may have to say the same things out loud in the interview.
